Poem of Clichés- A New Life

We met after an eternity and it was love at first sight,
as it should be between mother and son.
She was the apple of my eye, a chip off the old block,
a diamond in the rough.

Separate ways we traveled, forever and a day
since we first met, cat got your tongue?
An inquisitive call and bone chilling cold news.
It was a dagger in the heart and a tear in my eye.

Against the grain she fought and death by a thousand cuts.
She found herself between a rock and a hard place, alone in the dark.
To die by one’s own sword, I must be barking up the wrong tree,
as she is after my own heart.

Big brother is watching and things are not as they appear.
Heart torn apart and the truth is stranger than fiction.
Hit the nail on the head and unbelievably,
the slayer, her partner of life.

He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword.
The cause is bigger than life, like David and Goliath,
but the bigger they are the harder they fall.

It’s no use crying over spilled milk,
though absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Find the truth and justice will prevail.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet,
as time heals all wounds.
